Case Study – On-site Confined Space Training for construction and haulage company

A West Sussex based construction and haulage company approached Alpha for an urgent requirement in on-site Confined Space Training. Their current provider was failing to provide them with training dates that accommodated their needs and way of working.  They required onsite training at short notice while remaining cost-effective.

The firm provide muckaway and groundworks services for projects of all sizes and scales in the South East of England, working with Utilities companies, Main Contractors, Home owners and Small Developers.

Alpha were able to respond quickly to the client’s initial enquiry by offering short notice dates at their location using one of the mobile confined space training units.  Furthermore Alpha were able to offer a cost saving solution by offering the use of our West Sussex Training Academy which was available on the client’s chosen date.

From the initial enquiry, the team were able to make and confirm the booking on the same day.

Cost savings

In using our training location and mobile training unit for confined space the client was able to save 33%.

Following on from this course the client has booked a further 4 one day confined space entry courses, saving them a total of £2,000.

Other innovative solutions

Alpha have also been able to provide the client with a bespoke solution of providing abrasive wheels training and face fit testing on the same day.

Consolidating the two has helped reduce the delegates’ time spent away from their job and duties, saving both time and money.

There was an additional cost saving to the customer for combining the two.

Since providing the initial course back in May 2019 Alpha have gone on to provide 5 confined space one day courses at our academy and 3 abrasive wheel and facefit sessions at their sites.
