This course is aimed at anyone who wishes to take on the role of a nominated first aider in the workplace and gives the delegate the necessary skills and information to deal with a variety of emergency situations. The course is designed to give delegates the necessary competence and confidence to deal with a range of illnesses and injuries in the workplace.
This course is designed to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981 and other key legislation and UK protocols including company specific policies and procedures.
Delegates will have a greater understanding of the theoretical and practical application of emergency first aid techniques in the workplace to a suitable standard.
A combination of classroom based activity, syndicate working, presentation/demonstrations, practical application and question and answer paper. A wide range of video and photographic material is used, alongside practical exercises to enhance the learning experience for delegates.
Delegates will be continually assessed during the course, and will complete a multiple choice and theory question paper – which if passed will lead to a Level 2 Qualification and Credit Framework certification of achievement. (Qualsafe Awards).
The HSE recommend that all Emergency First Aiders at work attend a 3 hour First Aid Refresher course annually, to ensure that they are up to date with procedures and to reduce the level of “first aid skill fade”.
1 day (6 hours)
Course cost includes the certificate fee.
