Launching new digital learning options

Alpha are excited to announce the launch of e-learning and blended learning options, in addition to the existing in person training provision from the Training Academy and at customer site.

Managing Director Shaun Jackaman says “The introduction of additional ways of learning is the natural next step in being able to offer our customers a comprehensive and modern day training solution. Whilst we will always favour in person training, we acknowledge that customer preferences have changed – and possibly been accelerated by the Coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing lockdown. The wider choice of high-quality learning options will enable our customers to work in a way that works for them and their teams”.

Starting from July 2020, there will be 3 distinctly different types of learning available with Alpha:

E-learning

The e-learning option enables delegates to choose from up to 45 online courses to study and complete the coursework in their own time, and in the comfort of their own home or office. Easily accessible via the Alpha website, users can browse the course portfolio and purchase their course of choice via credit card or Pay Pal, providing instant access to the course material. The courses are run in accordance with current legislation and are accredited by industry leading associations.

Training Managers who look after the training requirements of a whole team can set up their own account, manage payments and monitor progress whilst keeping an overall dashboard view of their team’s training. The Alpha team can also set up training “bundles” that contain all relevant courses for the organisation.

Blended learning

As the latest addition, the blended learning option facilitates remote teaching by one of Alpha’s trainers via video calling software such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. This type of format is currently available for IOSH Managing and Working Safely courses, with further courses in the pipeline. Some courses are combined with self-study.

In person training

The traditional, in person training model will remain available at the Training Academy in Sussex, or at customer site (for groups of four delegates or more). These courses are run by experienced trainers across the UK and are bespoke to the customer's industry and sector. They include:

• Fire Safety
• Health & Safety (e.g. IOSH)
• Mental Health
• Working at Height
• Manual Handling
• Construction Skills
