Rescue 2 team members qualify as PPE Inspectors

Congratulations to two of our Equipment and Logistics team members, Joe Nieser and Neal Daniels, who have recently qualifed as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Inspectors for work at height.

Joe and Neal attended the four day instructional course in Cumbria, during which time training was given regarding the inspection of PPE.  This included connectors, harnesses, helmets, lanyards, ropes and rope adjustment devices.

The theoretical test was an assessment of their general knowledge of the law and regulation relating to the selection, management and inspection of items of PPE used for work at height.

The practical test covered the inspectionof a representative range of PPE, the assessment of each item’s condition, and the appropriate action to be taken following the assessment in each case.

Both passed with flying colours. Well done guys!
