Rescue 2’s Matt Wintle wins London’s Fittest Firefighter 2014 award

Massive congratulations go out to our team member Matt Wintle, for winning the veterans category of this years London’s Fittest Firefighter competition!

On Saturday 6th September, Covent Garden’s West Piazza was the main stage for a show of strength, speed and agility from London’s toughest firefighters, where servicemen and women competed for a first prize of £1,000 at Totally Covent Garden.

Held annually, the competition involves a gruelling 14-stage obstacle course against the clock, and London’s bravest compete against each other in a battle to see who is declared London’s Fittest Firefighter.

The event has been going for a number of years and is a great event for spectators – as well as being a very highly regarded prize amongst the Fire Fighting community.
